Clinical Bio

I have been a therapist for 15 years, and my path to this work was anything but a straight line. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Journalism from Baylor University and a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M University - Central Texas. My curiosity about how the world works even led me to earn over 36 credit hours in general laboratory sciences—a hobby that deeply informs my understanding of the biological side of mental health.

My clinical experience is broad. I have worked with almost every diagnosis across the lifespan—children, teens, adults, and couples. I’ve practiced in many settings: correctional facilities, hospitals, advocacy centers, domestic violence shelters, and as part of community emergency response teams collaborating with first responders. Today, I serve as the Medical Services Administrator of Get Out Of Your Head Therapy, where I work in tandem with Dr. Ross to manage psychiatric services. I am the Chief Learning Officer of Get Into Your Head Training, and as part of that work, I seek to connect mental health service providers with tangible, applicable trainings from other clinicians who are doing incredible things in clinical rooms across the world. As the Director of Education for Trauma Model Therapy, I oversee services and programs that contribute to the general public having access to specilaists that can competently treat complex trauma and Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID).

I am trained in a wide array of evidence-based models. I don’t just know these models; I blend them to fit the specific needs of the person sitting across from me.

What I Really Want You to Know

Too many people spend years in therapy without experiencing significant change. I’m not okay with that. If you work with me, you should know that I do things differently. While the therapeutic relationship is incredibly powerful, I am not here to be your "professional friend." I am here to be your expert guide. I operate with a candid, caring style that will gently push you to challenge yourself.

Because I believe in the power of focused, deep work, I only commit to being your therapist for a single year (365 days). We will set clear goals and meet at least once per week. This isn't the right space for venting or decompressing about daily stressors; it’s for people who have the bandwidth to dive into the deep end and do the introspective work required between sessions.

Think of it this way: We dive into the deepest part of the ocean together. I teach you how to confidently swim back to shore. We acclimate to your newfound insights, I say goodbye, and you keep walking down that beautiful beach at sunset—knowing you’re going to be alright.

How I Weave Trauma Model Therapy Into My Practice

As the Director of Education for Trauma Model Therapy (TMT), I work directly with Dr. Colin Ross to train other clinicians in this framework. Naturally, TMT is the foundational mindset of everything I do. In my practice, I weave TMT into the work by helping you discover the logic of your survival. We look back at your history not to dwell on the past, but to understand how your current struggles—whether they be dissociation, addiction, or self-sabotage—were once brilliant solutions to a problem of powerlessness. By using the TMT framework, we work to:

  • restore your Internal Locus of Control, moving you from feeling like a victim of your symptoms to the empowered leader of your own life.

  • dismantle your chronic shame.

  • blend TMT with tools like EMDR to ensure that your higher-thinking, logical brain and your survival, protective brain are finally speaking the same language.

  • look back with intention and purpose so that you can finally heal and move forward as a whole person.
