THE TMT CLINICIAN COMMITMENTS

Every TMT Certified Clinician makes a formal pledge to uphold a rigorous set of clinical commitments designed to protect your progress and your power. This means your TMT Clinician is dedicated to maintaining a neutral, respectful space where you retain your agency, while always working with your eventual independence in mind. It is our promise to lead with humility, curiosity, and a deep respect for your lived experience as we guide you toward a life where you are finally thriving, not just surviving. Below are the TMT Commitments that each TMT Certified Clinician or TMT Consultant commits to uphold.

I commit to…

  • honor the TMT mindset, which includes:

    • conducting treatment with the end of treatment in mind.

    • understanding the stages of trauma recovery.

    • valuing the purpose and reasoning for Therapeutic Neutrality.

    • understanding the benefits and limits of medication in the trauma recovery process.

  • speak in affirming, empathetic, and compassionate ways that values an individual’s worth and lived experience.

  • stay curious.

  • learn and utilize a variety of evidence-based treatments for the treatment of trauma and trauma-related disorders.

  • be able to explain competently the TMT Framework to clients, patients, and other clinicians.

  • have the humility to admit when I am not adequately trained or equipped to continue working with a person or a person’s situation, and refer that person with care.

  • lean into my TMT community and clinical support system when I feel out of my depth.

  • contribute my specific talents to the betterment of the TMT community and trauma-informed care.

We are here to help you find the right kind of help. It is our mission to get you connected to a Trauma Model Therapy Clinician that can provide you with impactful & attuned care in your language and in your geographical location.
