Clinical Bio

I am a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor specializing in opioid use disorder treatment at MedMark Treatment Centers in Waco, Texas. I hold a Bachelor’s in Humanities from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and completed hospital chaplaincy training at All Saints Hospital and Baylor Scott & White. Integrating Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma Model Therapy, I guide clients beyond initial abstinence to help them understand underlying patterns, cultivate practical coping skills, and build stable, fulfilling lives in long-term recovery.

What I Really Want You to Know

Counseling is a privilege, and I view addiction not as a sole defining identity, but often as a survival mechanism developed to cope with unaddressed trauma, loss, and chaos. My goal is to look past the behavior to see the person, helping clients answer how to live a stable life when instability has been their norm for so long. True recovery requires more than removing a substance; it demands building emotional regulation, communication, and stress management skills. I am dedicated to helping clients recognize their inherent worth and capacity for growth as they step into the healthiest version of themselves.

How I Weave Trauma Model Therapy Into My Practice

Rooted in my hospital chaplaincy experience, I utilize Trauma Model Therapy (TMT) to understand the underlying experiences driving a client's coping patterns, shifting the clinical lens from symptom control to root-cause awareness. I integrate TMT's trauma-informed lens with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to equip clients with practical tools for emotion regulation and cognitive reframing. Above all, I prioritize client safety and pacing, offering a grounded space where individuals can process past experiences without pressure, build self-awareness, and safely move forward in their recovery.
